. . . . . .About Cynthia

Nobody has opened more gates in competition with greater success than Cynthia Cantleberry. This Paso Robles, California, trainer has amassed an unprecedented 14 AQHA World Championship trail titles in her career, which makes her the winningest trail competitor in the history of the show. In 1994, she became the first person ever to win World Championships in both the senior and junior horse divisions in the same year, on the 17-year-old mare El Seven Becky and the 4-year-old filly Larks Lumbata. With countless Class-A and regional wins, Cantleberry is the undisputed authority when it comes to training winning trail horses.

In addition, she has earned numerous world and national titles in both Western and English events. Since the age of 12, Cynthia (Willis) Cantleberry has probably spent more time horseback than anywhere else. Cynthia has shared her talents training horses, youth and adults to become winners and champions in every discipline. Her unique ability to communicate with both people and horses has given many riders and horses the happy ending they've always striven for.

Originally from Bakersfield, California, Cynthia Willis married Ronald “Red” Cantleberry in 1970.  Together they trained horses, kids and adults for over 25 years.  Often there were 20 kids riding in the arena for Saturday lessons. Their successful AQHA training and showing operation relocated to Paso Robles California in 1985.  Here, many of their Bakersfield customers followed and additional customers commuted from throughout the nation (and even Europe) to learn Cynthia's " trail flair". Red passed away in October, 1999, but Cynthia continues to successfully ride, train, show and support many amateur and select amateur competitors in AQHA sanctioned shows. She was asked to join Lynn Palm's "Women Love Horses" tour as a featured clinician and will now be available for offsite clinics this fall.
